Mr (later Sir) Henry Irving (1838-1905)

Born John Henry Brodribb, Irving was considered the greatest actor of Shakespeare's plays in his day.

In 1878 Irving purchased the Lyceum Theatre in London , and was managed by the writer Bram Stoker.
