May 1st 1837 - William IV Prints

In the arms of her father, the bride explains the reason for her absence and the sincerity of her forbidden love, and is welcomed back into the family. The young husband is touched by the gracious forgiveness of father to daughter, and lays his hand upon his swelling chest. Deeds and paperwork lay half attended to upon a small table, suggesting that the marriage shall be agreed to formally– as does the church tower visible through the open window.
