(Active 1820 - 1850)

May 1st 1837 - William IV Prints

The newly-weds are sped along in their coach at full gallop, not in haste to reach the matrimonial bed but in order to outpace the fast approaching father of the bride, who has been alerted to his daughter's circumstances and is now in hot pursuit. The new husband rather anxiously looks out of the carriage and back on his pursuer. A high level of detail is apparent in the dry and dusty track and the fast moving horses.
