ZYGMUNT BUJNOWSKI
also known as Zychem BUJNOWSKI
(1895-1927)
Born in the village Kuty-owo-Porysie, Poland. Studied at the academy of fine art in St. Petersburg, where as a tsar's scholarship holder he studied painting.
He continued his studies in the Polish School of Fine Art in Kiev under direction Krzy Anowskiego.
He returned to the Polish countryside in 1918, having taken part in WWI.
As a result of the October Revolution, BUJNOWSKI arrived in Warsaw. Wounded in 1920 from a battle in Berezyn, he suffered a permanent disability. After 5 years, he retrieved his lost health, which had caused a long break in his creative life.
Taking up residence in Bujnowski Tykocinie, he married and returned to painting. However, this period of life of as a creative painter was very short. Many works were destroyed in WWII.
Subjects were mainly landscapes, influenced by Krzy Anowskiego.
