Julie, Lady Oakes

(2001)

An international artist working between America and Canada for over three decades, Julie Oakes has established a reputation in New York for making contemporary art. Having worked with video, room installations and live-performance art in the 1990s, Oakes returned in the new millennium to the traditional painting and drawing techniques and materials of her fine-art background.

The drawings for sale were made by Oakes in 2001, and are studies from busts, ancient sculpture and paintings housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
