A view of the colourful houses and coniferous trees of a small harbour town. Snow is resting on the limbs of some trees, and on the rooftops of the dwellings, the shape of which suggests an Eastern European origin. The artist's free use of the brush and his palate of colourful, thinned paints, gives the impression of dusk and the play of warm light upon the fronts of the houses, much in the manner of the Russian artist Arkhip Kuinduzhi.
